The Garden City City Council voted to approve Resolution 12‑25‑25 at its Oct. 13 meeting to renew the Garden City Police Department’s workspace license at the Ada County Victim Services Center, 417 S. Sixth Street.
City attorney Mr. Wadhams summarized the item and told council that the agreement is a license (not a lease), that it imposes no cost on Garden City and that the facility — previously known as Faces of Hope — provides coordinated services for victims of crime, including police, medical and victim‑advocate support. “It’s a license agreement. It’s not a lease agreement,” he said.
Council members expressed support for the facility and its staff; one council member encouraged colleagues to visit the center and noted an open house. The motion to approve the resolution passed on roll call; recorded votes show Council member Page, Council member Rasmussen, Council member Jacobs and Council member Jorgensen voting yes (council also recorded other yes votes during roll call).
