Happening to my yard and a few others in my neighborhood. What might be doing this? Location is Pacific Northwest. Any guesses? Thx in advance

Likely wild boar. They’re known to root up grass

This is crow. This was happening all over my neighborhood and one day I caught the crows doing their nasty work. There is a weird new invasive grub that is taking root in PNW lawns and the crows go crazy for them.

Something looking for lawn grubs. Raccoons? If they are earth mounds? it might be moles. It looks like a burrowing animal. Can you set up a camera? To stop it get something to kill the lawn grubs. Leatherjackets are quite juicy and common in lawns.

Grubs. It’s a notorious snack and they are looking fo them. Grubs specifically. Go buy a bag of grub removal and put it on your lawn. And water it in as directed.

    Totally boars.
    They’re in EVERY state now.

In the PNW, this is likely raccoons or crows. Those are my culprits getting at the grubs.

Your husband with an “aerator” that he rented from Home Depot, except it wasn’t an aerator, it was a tiller. And now your husband’s been out at the bar for hours since returning to HD, and you know you’re about to call the tender up and ask her if there’s a Tilly sitting there. Never going to live that one down. What an animal.

Seen this in Hawaii, pigs, good eating pigs too

Could be as simple as a crow looking for grubs

30-50 feral hogs, hopefully you don’t have kids playing in the yard

Likely crows. I’m in Portland and see this everywhere, and have seen crows doing it many times.

Multiple hoof prints in the pictures. Definitely swine.

A redditor posted a video of the creatures responsible for this same thing happening in his yard.

    The culprit was birds.

wild pigs/javelinas/someone’s pigs that have gotten loose.

PNW you say? You probably have an infestation of European Chafer Beetles. Your lawn is being torn up by crows, maybe raccoons. They are now endemic and cannot be gotten rid of without either pesticides or nematodes.

Crows, mighty birds, after invasive beetle grubs. I watch them every day. Looks like so many lawns in Seattle, including UW campus. A problem for the last 2 yrs. Otoh, have never seem such sleek and sassy crows

Based on everyone, sounds like all animals looking for grubs. Remove the grub, no more digging?

There’s an invasive beetle that’s terrorizing north America. They make the grass roots super weak so its easy for raccoons and crows to fuck up the grass in search of grub

Antifa. Keep an eye out for oversize frogs and unicorns with expensive-looking signs.

Looks like what the wild hogs do in my pasture.
