AVON, CT — The Garden Club of Avon Monday, is hosting a rather unique program, not about gardens, but about house plants.
Called “Houseplants and their Personalities,” the event will take place on Monday, Oct. 20, at the Church of St. Ann’s Father Bennett Hall, 289 Arch Road, Avon.
It will start with an 11:30 a.m. member meeting, with a light lunch at noon and the program at 1 p.m.
There, expert Nancy Ballek MacKinnon will speak to the group about how to effectively grow and care for a diverse range of house plants.
She is a partner at Ballek’s Garden Center in East Haddam and is an author of myriad gardening books and guides.
Reservations are required, with a guest fee of $15 payable at the door (cash or check).
To reserve a spot in the program, email Linda Mierzejewski at thegardenclubofAvon@gmail.com.
