Plantain is a wonderful #medicinal and #edible plant. Itโs a common weed. The plant has edible leaves & stems. Simply #harvest and steam, or chop up and add to soups, stews and casseroles for nutrients and fiber.
#Plantain also works like magic on bug bites, burns, small wounds or the like, one would chew or pulverize the plant and then apply to the affected area. Itโs healing powers are dramatic.
Stop fighting with weeds when #gardening and start utilizing them for a much more satisfying experience ๐ ๐ซถ๐ผ
Check out my before and after photos of this particular garden I weeded.
So, this is a plant that I want everybody to know about. It’s a wonderful um edible. It’s a medicinal. I’ve talked about it before, but it’s one of my favorites. And I’m weeding a garden. I just pulled it out and it’s just like it’s really hard to throw this away, but obviously I will. I’m not I’m not harvesting today. So, this is plantain. Um this is ribbed plantain as far as I know. See the large um ribbed leaves? They always get these spikes. They start out, this is a good example, because they start out as these little green guys, and then they’ll get darker and darker and darker until they’re like little psyllium husks. So, this entire plant is edible. The greens are edible. You can chop them in salads, soup, stews. Um, the flower stocks are edible when they’re young. The seeds are um a great source of fiber. This plant also heals burns, insect bites, um, etc. So, don’t forget that when you’re weeding, some of this is quite valuable.
