Just finished! DG, pea gravel for most of the area, Palos Verdes trees, a mature Chinese pistache in the center, and various shrubs on the corner (along with a small Toyon).

Drip system throughout.

What do you all think? I love the idea of a gravel yard.

I’m going to add a gazebo and string lights next.

Well, it’s better than being a grass farmer.

It’s fantastic, will be even better with lights and some sail cloth and/or gazebo!

As someone who’s seen quite a few of these types of gravel areas put in throughout my drought prone neighborhood in central Texas…. make sure to use a pre-emergent weed preventer over all that bare land in the spring. May be different in your area. Might want to ask some neighbors.

I’ve seen so many of these absolutely overtaken with Bermuda grass and weeds within a few years of installation. Weed barrier fabric does nothing, the seeds blow in from other places.

Potted citrus would look cool maybe two in the corners of the gravel square, otherwise it looks really pretty
