I bought this Thai from Costco a while back, the leaves were damaged when I got it but they are so large I’ve left them and it’s suck a beautiful plant.
This is the FIRST leaf it had thrown since I bought it, all the others were already there. I was SOOOOOO excited for it when I saw it a few days ago and today I was examining my plants and I brushed my hand against it and it just SNAPPED!!!
I’m so sad, this looked like it was going to be a big leaf.
Should I just go ahead and rip the rest off or if I leave it will it hang on to whatever is still attached?
What should I do with this?

    **such not suck**
ps. I know this pole is not adequate, but I’ve seen large monstera with no support at all so I’m letting it slide for the time being.

That’s a shame, honestly id leave it and just see what happens. If the plant wants to kill it off and reabsorb the nutrients let it if not use it as an experiment to see how long itll last lol

I’ve done the same thing with more plants than I’d like to admit. Usually its when I try “helping” them slip out of their sheath. (damnit, someone told me what thats called but I forgot already)

I let them go and see what happens. Worst case, you’ll have half of a big leaf.

Just leave it for now. Lesson learned to leave the newbies alone while sprouting! They’re soft even when they’re fist fully unfurled and will continue growing in this soft state for a week or so until they harden.
