CLEVELAND, Ohio –“Frost: An Ice-Capped Garden Experience” returns to the Cleveland Botanical Garden for its third year. An immersive celebration of light, nature and seasonal wonder, the event opens Saturday, Nov. 22, and runs through Sunday, Jan. 4.

Frost invites families and friends to rediscover the joy of winter together through glittering displays, festive activities and imaginative storytelling.

“Expect classics like our gingerbread house competition and evergreen trees decorated by local garden clubs alongside all-new photo ops and a magical tale intertwined throughout the gardens,” said Ryan Sandy, associate director of guest experience.

Visitors will follow the story of Verglas, the winter spirit, as they journey through reimagined indoor and outdoor scenes. Verglas greets guests in the Ellipse, where shimmering plants and lights set the tone for a whimsical adventure.

In the glasshouse biomes, Raine and Shine — spirits of the wet and dry seasons — celebrate winter around the world, guiding visitors through the Spiny Desert of Madagascar and the Costa Rican Cloud Forest, complete with a captivating ring of waterfall lights.

Family favorites return with an expanded kids’ play zone in Clark Hall, featuring the ever-popular oversized slide. Outdoors, the gardens will glow with densely lit displays, a light tunnel and a disco-lit Hershey Children’s Garden. Inside, the Japanese Overlook will transform into a grand winter hall for interactive educational activities.

Guests will also find beloved traditions in the Garden Room, where creative gingerbread houses fill the space with sweet inspiration, and in Woodland Hall, showcasing elaborately decorated trees by local garden clubs.

The six-week experience will include educational activities and events. The garden will be open until 9 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Saturday evenings will feature live performances reflecting the holiday spirit, and local musicians will perform from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sundays.
