this plant is the most slow growing, most delicate, most biggest pain in my butt. i believe she is here only to spite me and boy is it working. 😑😑

You have my permission to send it on it’s way and be done with the struggle. 🙂

Toss it or find someone who wants to save it. If a plant brings me more frustration than happy, I stop having it in my home.

🙏 Grant me the serenity to throw away the plants I cannot grow, the courage to grow the plants I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. 😜

I hate it too. I have given mine away. My final attempt is growing two props together out of spite to see if it’ll somehow become less ugly as a double plant but so far it’s not looking promising.

  5. Mine grows fine, but my frustration is that it is the WORST of my many philos about being able to unravel its own leaves without assistance.

They’re genetic abortions that can barely live in optimal conditions lol, don’t feel bad about it. There’s a reason you very rarely see any large ones, even though the cultivar they’re bred from gets massive.

I recently chop n propped my ppp, and while I was watching the roots grow over the next few days……… I realized how uninterested I was in it anymore and I chucked it straight into the trash. I have too many other plants deserving of all that attention I was putting into my sad ppp!

Mine grows pretty fast and I love the pink and green together 😢

The way I have a bunch of little baby ones I propped off my mother plant when she randomly decided she was no longer for this world and all of them are doing TERRIBLY!!!! 🥲😂😭 somehow the mother plant got left as a single little chonk that is now growing two new plants though? They’ve been tiny for the longest time and barely growing though. I’m just like….. please. Please do something! I see the potential in you don’t let me down 😂😭

Omg agree!!!! I wanted one for so long and my husband eventually bought me one as a gift. But it’s the worst!! I’d love to toss it, but I can’t since he was so thoughtful getting it for me.

does it need more light? i keep mine under a grow light and it spits out new leaves constantly

Is it just this specific cultivar that’s the problem?

  13. Mine is currently dying for no reason after 2 years of (slow) growth and not complaining.

Mine grows so ugly and leggy. I propped and it flopped!

  15. Ontbijtspekje

I feel you. Mine grows fine but I keep chopping it because I don’t like it. Somehow I can’t throw it away tho. But I would still suggest to throw it away or sell it for free if you don’t like it

I had one that grew super fast but the leaves were all like 1″ long. Made me SO mad

I have the same feelings about my McColley’s Finale.

I landed the ultimate proplift of one of these. A broken piece that had roots they let me take. I was so excited. It died so fast and devastated me. (I think its dead anyway)

Same here! I loooove philos and put so much efford in caring for my pink princess but she still has small shitty leaves and doesnt use her nice hydrating mosspole (while my other philos thrive).. a real princess!!

She was a pain yes…. So I said goodbye bitch lol ✌🏼 sad because she’s pretty but my god what a headache 🙄🫠

  21. mada1ynnn

Mine hasn’t grown a single bit since I got it 6 months ago. Not dying, nor thriving. Kinda hate her.

  22. Queen_Vibes

Personally my pink princess my easiest plant – a self watering steak for these babies is gold

More than one plant has been set in my work breakroom with a “free to a good home” sticky note on it. Sometimes it’s just divisions I bring, but I’ve totally put plants I’m just over on the table.

  24. I detested mine. First it didn’t have enough humidity, so the leaves weren’t unfurling. I fixed that. Then it was unhappy because it was getting too much light — the leaves were curling away from the light. I fixed that, but then it decided it didn’t have enough light, so it started growing leaves with very little or no pink. And it always looked twisted and stupid. I ended up binning it.

I just leave mine in the shower and it gives me leaves every once in a while. It doesn’t look the healthiest but it still gives me leaves. It’s doing much better in there compared to how it was doing in lower humidity.
