Hey everyone!
I’m new to planting from seeds. You can see in the pic a set of mustard plants that managed to sprout and grow true leaves.
At first, I only had 1 grow light but I feel like that might have been a bad move. I placed a second one on the other side so they should be good now.

My concern is that they are very frail and unable to hold themselves up. Would the extra light make them stronger or should I start over with a new set of seeds and make them strong from the start. This is 1.5 months in fyi.

Thanks!

Yes, start over with more light and maybe some perlite added to the substrate…

Yes. Start over. 🫤 That’s very poor seed germination. Maybe the seeds aren’t that viable anymore? You may need fresh seeds. Also, the long skinny stems definitely means more light needed. You may also have damping off fungus in the soil if stems are skinny at the base and prone to falling over. A good lightweight seed starting soil is ideal for germination (if that’s not what you are already using).

Lol I see that my lettuce plants are twinning with your mustard plants. 3rd time growing lettuce seeds and they’re still growing leggy. I don’t understand how they grow well under sunlight but become leggy under direct grow light.
4th time may be the charm. I culled most of mine. The rest I repotted.
