Werner Hendrickson Landscape Architecture is led by the collaboration between award-winning licensed landscape architects Elizabeth Hendrickson and Joseph Werner. With an alliance spanning over a decade, the partnership strives to create elegant and meaningful outdoor spaces for their clients through a sensitive and responsive approach to landscape design. Werner and Hendrickson resolve to create gardens which speak to the character and emotions of those who will enjoy them from one generation to the next. They believe that a truly successful landscape is the result of the combination of artistic expression, the application of technical expertise, and a dedication to the ongoing care and maintenance required to steward the growing and changing natural environment. Hendrickson and Werner share over thirty years of experience working in New England and New York, Southern California, Texas, Georgia, and abroad. With offices in Connecticut and New York, WHLA’s work spans a range of project types and scales—from historic renovations and traditional estates to new constructions and contemporary residences. Werner and Hendrickson imbue their passion for horticulture in all of their projects, whether in the artistry of a lush perennial border, a curated palette of diverse trees and shrubs, or a seasonal meadow designed to support pollinators.
