I started before the end of the summer. And seedswapping with other gardeners has been awesome too!

I just got a few packets of seeds today!!

I bought some seeds already from late summer discounts, like cucumber seeds and some annual flowers. Have autumn sowed a bunch of flowers and will sow carrots and parsnips in a few weeks, while writing up my shopping lists for January 😁
Can’t wait to go through this whole madness again!!

I never grow from seed. I always buy started plants at my local nursery (dedicated nursery not Lowe’s or Home Depot). I have a packet of “triple L crop” tomatoes and wasn’t sure if I wanted to deal with starting from seed.

Incredible Seeds, Annapolis Seeds, and Rainbow Seeds in Canada!

These were all via True Leaf, one of the recommended sources of seed here. I got celery, Pak choi, carrots, Black-eyed peas, and more bush beans. I had always grown pole beans and was really surprised at how well the bush beans produced this summer.

I have enough seeds to plant a thousand gardens when all I have is a 6 x 3 community garden plot for another 4 years. And I’m still thinking about what else to grow.

I bought 6 packets of seeds from Etsy, not one came up. $35 for nothing

I’m going to ramp up some indoor hydroponic growing. Got a couple of gently used Aerogardens off FB Marketplace. New to me, so we shall see. We’ve gotten spoiled having fresh greens in particular.

Kind of hard to resist trying new things. Next year in addition to my usual staples I am trying tatume squash (vine borers resistant, hopefully), armenian cucumbers, and malabar red vine spinach.
Who, me? Just starting some beans and cucumbers, racing against old man winter 🥶

Yes. I took advantage of clearance sales from Johnny’s, Burpees and another brand (10 cents per pack).00

Oh I’ve been buying seeds all summer 😂

Those packets are so cool looking.

No. I’m already planting for THIS season. But then I’m like, in paradise. California has a year-round planting. A mix of cool season and leftovers from summer. And potatoes.

I just got some more seeds and my new cherry tree delivered yesterday! I try to have everything at least ordered by january. Most companies ship it whenever it’s the right time of year but I’ve found if you wait until spring, there’s not a whole lot left to pick from. Especially the years when food security is difficult and more noobs than usual start their first garden. Between prices and trade wars, I think we could be looking at another spring like 2021 where it’s just hard to find anything because so many people are panic gardening.
