Photos in order;

When I first got her, I was naive, I didn’t know what a Jacklyn Alocasia should look like, and Jesus Christ not this. It was RIDDLED with spider mites and god knows whatever else, that’s why its color is super faded. (I found it on the clearance shelf at a local small nursery)
So naturally all the leaves kept dying off bc I wasn’t treating it as intensely as I should.

It wasn’t until I depotted that hoe, went down to one leaf, and gave her a Dawn dishsoap and water bath with qtips in all them crannies did she finally show her will to live. This was the type of energy I probably won’t give any other plant. I was fueled with determination for this bitch to live. Then I committed to it living inside with the rest of the squad.

So…. that last leaf died lol. But I had two little growth points giving me hope, PLUS I had a corm sprout into one full leaf, (still just one but whatever) and then, nothing happened for another 4 weeks.

Finally, those two growth points popped out the most STUNNING Jacklyn leaves. I got to see what this plant is actually supposed to look like in person.

The variation of green on the leaves is so mesmerizing that the months and months of pampering that nub of a plant was worth it.
