This guy was slowly dying in her poorly light apartment. The window its in is north facing. It seems to be a lot healthier but there hasn't been any new growth. Whats the next step?

Once it gets acclimated to your place (and hopefully perks up a bit) I would give it a fresh soil change

Ha! Good luck, she’s a picky b*tch. Calatheas like very high humidity, prone to spider mites, don’t you dare forget to water her, but don’t water her too much.

In all seriousness, change the soil and hope for the best.

Using a utility bucket and a garden scooper or an ice scoop…

    – 1/2 scoop of cactus soil
    – 1/2 scoop worm castings (optional, but good for nutrients)
    – 1/2 scoop of compost (optional, but good for nutrients)
    – 2 scoops perlite
    – 2 scoops horticultural charcoal
    – 2 scoops orchid bark

Mix it all up, and you want to get the impression of, “that’s chunky” If you don’t get that impression, add another scoop of charcoal and perlite.

    Sell your soul!!

Humidity and distilled water. My dehumidifier water changed everything for my prayer plants.
