Want to start out with a heartfelt thank you to everyone here. The initial outpouring of support that came from my first post about this, warmed my heart dearly. This sub, is one of the only internet places that gives me hope and gets me excited for the future still.

Here is the OP to get folks up to speed: https://www.reddit.com/r/NativePlantGardening/comments/1ndk7m9/my_township_native_pollinator_project_is_getting/

Some updates here: At time of writing this, the go fund me has raised $1804 and we had an additional $450 sent in via cheques to the township. The average donation amount is $33.58. This sub raised close to half of the amount is my best guess. The rest was from promoting on local FB groups and one called "Native Plants, Healthy Planet" because I love those guys. I got my employer to kick in $100 and by printing out the QR code and writing a blurb and leaving those fliers in the lunchroom, there was another $75 or so that came from co-workers. (Found out one of them participates in this sub even!)

I'm making one more little push as my local gardeners host a seed swap at the Grayslake Library on October 26th from 1-4pm, and a small blurb gets published in our township newsletter that is going out this week to get us a little closer. Plus, with nokings 2.0 coming, I'll be handing out some fliers there as I marshal the local event. As I originally mentioned, I'm matching all the donations, so we are over the goal technically, but any additional is going to go for signage.

Due to some other construction at the site, we are now looking at mid-November for seeding. But one herbicide application has occurred. We are doing another one in a couple weeks. I remember on the last post there were some questions about seed mix, so that info along with a couple other pics of my gardens and the future space are included on this post.

Lastly, doing a local dem fundraiser, and had just re-upped on some Tallamy books for the little Tallamy/Leopold library and got some seeds from my local native gardening friends…Just want to shout out to "Sunrise Baskets" out of North Carolina. They made a lovely basket and are old plant nerds like us! I kinda wish I hung out with old hippies my whole life now…lol.

So, a big thank you to all that donated. If anyone still wants to throw in $5 here is the link. Every dollar equates to approximately 5 square feet of conversion. Here is the link: https://gofund.me/da68f9120

Thanks everyone! Get out there and meet people. The older native garden folks are treasure troves of knowledge about plants and all things local. Love ya all…never change this sub…Its a special place.

Thank you for sharing your plan, but I have a few questions. You own this land or are you doing a project in a public space? How much land are you trying to reseed? It looks like you have almost 11 lbs, that’s a pretty big amount of coverage. Are you doing soil coverage over the land or tilling then tamping the land to get seed penetration?

I guess I would say you’ve commented on the financial side, I’m more curious about the practical execution and area of effect. Maybe this was covered in the linked post, but I thought it would be worth including in your post description.
