The caudex of Euphorbia squarrosa is somewhat shaped like a white radish and typically grows to about 10–15 cm in diameter. If you want it to grow faster, you can bury the caudex underground. One of its most admired features is its three-ridged, fleshy branches that twist and grow horizontally. During the growing season, it also produces small yellow-green flowers.
