(KMDL-FM) Don’t look now, but we are in the thick of the holiday season here in south Louisiana. (Yes, we know, it’s still October, but you know how fast Christmas will arrive!)
When Is Holiday in the Gardens?
Moody Gardens in Galveston, Texas has been getting ready for their holiday season as the ice sculptors are feverishly working on the award-winning ICE LAND and the lights are being strung for the Festival of Lights as well.
All of this will culminate in their celebration known as “Holiday in the Gardens Festival”, which runs daily from November 22, 2025, through January 3, 2026.

ICE LAND: Christmas Around the World is definitely one of the big attractions. The amazing carving team is in from China and they’re sculpting two million pounds of ice into amazing displays. This year, you’ll be able to travel from Russia and Egypt to China and beyond to discover how the globe celebrates the season.

There’s even an ice slide to enjoy. Glide from the top of the Eiffel Tower on the Giant Ice Slide, then warm up with a festive beverage inside the coolest spot around – Shiver’s Ice Bar.

Another favorite is the Festival of Lights, a walking trail of lights that includes over two million lights over a one-mile path.
