Don’t toss those trimmed rosa chinences cutings. You can use them for propagation to increase your plant collection. First, select healthy disease-free shoots from this year’s growth, preferably those with buds or open flowers. Once you’ve chosen your cutings, trim them back to leave about two to three buds intact. Then, cut the stem about 1 cm below a bud and leave two leaves at the top. Now on to the propagation process. Prepare a tray filled with water and poke holes in the bottom of plastic cups. Fill the cups with soil and place them in the tray, making sure they’re submerged in the water. Finally, insert the cutings directly into the soil filled cups. For maintenance, keep the tray consistently filled with water, never letting it dry out, and occasionally mist the leaves to encourage quick rooting. You can also add a few drops of rooting hormone. Got it?
