BETTENDORF, Iowa — Wallace’s Garden Center is rebuilding after a fire destroyed its production and growing spaces earlier this year.

Back on May 31, a fire broke out at the Bettendorf business on Devils Glen Road. It damaged 12,000 square feet on the rear and east sides of the property but didn’t damage the main retail space. Wallace’s was able to reopen shortly after the fire.

“We’re proud to share that the rebuilding process has begun! With the help of our amazing community partners, we’re excited to unveil our plans for a new, improved growing space — one that’s more efficient, more sustainable, and easier to shop for you, our wonderful customers,” Wallace’s said in a Facebook post, thanking customers and the community for their patience and support.

A firefighter was injured in the blaze and taken to the hospital but has since fully recovered.
