A little over 60 days ago, I posted about a half dozen yaupon hollies I’d rescued from a construction site at a terrible time of year (early August, mid-90s).
Here’s the latest on them. Some are more vigorous than others, but all have at least some growth. I don’t think this is just trunk energy, it is too strong for that, and it has persisted over too long a period.
It is interesting how some of the leaves have come out purple and stayed purple for like 6 weeks, and some of the leaves are green. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Come spring I’ll get them into boxes and I’ll have a better idea of the nebari opportunities. We did work the nebari quite a bit at the time of collection but it was mostly just about reducing the big stuff.
Then it will be time to start finding new homes for them!
