The grant was used to establish an herb and vegetable garden to support a village café.

Broughton’s Toll Bar Cottage Community Café uses these herbs and vegetables daily, with the aim of educating children nearby.

Working closely with children from the Broughton village, the group has made their own planter, along with a worm hotel.

The project fund shows children daily how food waste can be made into compost and the importance of recycling food.
