Another picture taken shortly after showed a police officer in attendance standing beside the white vehicle, which could be seen to be upside-down in a front garden.

A wall, fence and front gate could be seen to be damaged as a result of the impact – with the car sitting just yards away from the property’s front window.

The vehicle appeared to be completely crushed following the smash with debris, including a number plate, seen scattered across the garden.

A local resident told how the home belongs to her grandparents – who were in at the time of the crash.

“The driver plus the two passengers fled the scene.

“Thankfully my grandparents and their neighbours weren’t harmed!”

Another local added: “This is such a busy road with pedestrians and kids. It’s a miracle no one was killed.”
