  1. Thanks for giving us inspiration everyday. Help please. I can’t find this clip in a video last week when you stopped and described a section where Angelface pink angelonia had mixed with another plant creating a “beautiful, favorite” mix. What was that other plant?? I planted my first angelonia and going to add more next year. Thanks for taking the time to answer this.

  2. What a wonderful day…lol @ Benjamin saying the cats aren’t eating the chickens…that’s a straight shooter right there 😂❤❤❤❤❤

  3. * The Rose Tree; I would add something to help it heal. Then maybe wrap with something loose first like Burlap, then something to help it not get freeze-burn. Then see how it is in Spring.
I don't think bugs will get it in winter. Do you?
    Sincerely, Anna in Arkansas
P.S. It looks like it was side swiped by a strong vehicle type thing.

  4. I had a tree that something had damaged it. I only had black electrical tape and I put it on and pulled real tight. It lived and it's been 5 years.

  5. How is your Bad Hair Day Mangave looking? I got one from PW that was for sure a young one. It’s definitely showing bad hair vibes 😂 Growing all directions.

  6. Wrap the wounded tree with all weather duck tape made by 3 M company. Wrap tightly and without any wrinkles as you possibly can. I wrapped a small tree my grandson ran over with s go cart. Pulled it back up and taped it. My brother still laughs about tree an it's beem 20 years ago. The tape stayed on three years until it started to come loose and the bsrk had no signs of damage or anything. It's worth a try.

  7. Great job on birding Benjamin. Samantha is a funny girl in the pop up bag ❤. And of course Russell 🐈🐈‍⬛ Douglas and chickens🐓🐓. Another peaceful morning with my coffee. Thank you for sharing.

  8. I would clean off dead or broken pieces of your rose standard. Spray with something like a neem oil or wax then wrap well with grafting tape. Once it's taped animals will leave it alone and go for trees not wrapped. I would wrap the other tree trunk as well for piece of mind! They will go for unwrapped if they are that hungry!

  9. I always enjoy seeing moments like this — simple and calm. I’ve been filming a few things in my own garden too, mostly just everyday scenes that make the day feel a bit slower.

  10. What a beautiful afternoon for you! 😂 Samantha in the pop-up bag 😂 Benjamin with the birds, it's so nice to see him so excited about the new birds and to see how much he knows about them 😮! Bravo Benjamin, keep us educated about those birds! The chickens, cats and everyone else…. what a Joy ❤ love the pots by the benches! Blessings 💞💞💞💞

  11. I wonder what happened to the tree rose. I hope it will recover. Also it would be driving me nuts to know what happened to the spruce trees. Especially with how much roots they had put on. Well, I guess it’s just one of those things.

  12. What a busy day!! I Just LOVE LOVE LOVE watching your "PET" chickens. They are like little dogs following you around, how FUN! 🥰

  13. Laura, I love watching your channel every day. I'm so inspired by your strength and can-do attitude! It did get me thinking about my own limits, as I'm already cautious about preserving my joints for the future.

I was wondering if you'd ever considered using a lightweight, foldable dolly? You could easily store it on the back of John Deere. It might be a handy way to save your energy and protect your back from all that heavy lifting, so you can keep making wonderful content for years to come. Just a thought from a caring fan

  14. Wow Benjamin has 131 species! That's awesome! I have 47! Just from my yard. But I'm in North Central FL. The differences in our lists of birds is probably pretty neat. I realized a few weeks ago, that you guys don't have red cardinals there! We have a little quail here called a Northern Bob White. But as I'm typing this I got a new rare bird added to my Life List!😊 A hermit Thrush. LoL. And right now a Red Bellied Woodpecker is making an awful lot of noise 😂 I just wonder if Benjamin realizes how many people from your videos have now downloaded and used this app like me and become a bit obsessed. The Merlin app should be sponsoring your channel 😅

  15. I am in Southwest PA and last year nurseries in our area did not stock or sell any blue spruces due to a virus that was spreading and killing them, and they were trying to stop the spread. Could it be possible you had that virus or something similar in your area?

  16. Laura, I am loving my Freckles and Speckles mangave that I bought while flowering a couple years ago! It’s given me nearly a dozen pups and is still living! Apparently this variety is NOT monocarpic!

  17. Why is Douglas STILL a little nasty towards Russell? I want them to be BestFriends snuggling together in sunny spots! What are some tricks to make that happen?

  18. Great day looks so sunny and warm. We have had a very windy and cold day today. The wind the last couple of days has been crazy. Feels like we are going to have a wicked winter coming. 😮.
The plants look so cute there. Glad you got the mangave plants tucked in the greenhouse. The animals are all around you today. Great job B Man I’m glad you got another species of bird.💯. Samantha what a character in the pop up bag. 😂. Great job on the trees Aron. Love the idea of more black lace in those spots. Great plant big impact. You’re poor rose standard 😮. It’s pretty chewed on. Squirrels did that to my cherry tree but not that bad. Mine is multi trunk so only that on died. Great job you have a backup.

Ps: Everyone celebrating Thanksgiving today have a great day.🦃🦃🦃💯💯💯🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Thanks again for sharing this with us.

  19. A lot of beautiful plants around the house. But lack of plan makes it messy and unfinished. Bare mulch doesn’t look like negative space. Please use professional garden designer.

  20. Just when I think I can't enjoy your videos even more you do this one..heehaw.Cats,kids,chickens, beautiful landscape, and you and Aaron. What a great start to the day.

  21. We love boxwoods but live in zone 4. Which would be a better substitute: Tater Tot, Anna's magic ball or midnight sun weigela ? Or do you have another suggestion?

What a delight seeing everyone while you went about your business! I can't thank you enough for not only teaching but nature nurturing us to our own beautiful spaces ⛲️!

  22. David Austin US website has a form where you can ask for help. You might want to ask them on what to do for your rose. I have used them and they are very helpful. Might take 24-48 hrs for them to get back to you.

  23. I wouldn’t wrap the trunk of the rose tree. There is a tar that is made especially for covering tree wounds. I have had great success using that.

  24. So glad you planted the tater tot I am in zone 6b and had planted two in pots and was worried about them on porch!!! Thank uoi

  25. Hi there👋🏻you planted those two spruce trees last year, and later you added a third one. That's the answer to how long they were there. I checked and I'm not Laura's friend Kate😂

  26. Every year I say the same thing, Where did summer go. The gardening season just goes by so quickly. Benjamin and Samantha are such sweet kiddos. ❤

  27. Are you going to protect the other rose trees? A loop of black hardware cloth or chicken wire would be pretty invisible from a distance.

  28. For the rose tree, you could try tree wound dressing that is sprayed or painted on. To prevent more damage, consider putting quarter-inch fencing around the base of trunk, maybe 8 inches away. I have to put fencing around my hydrangeas and roses for the winter or the rabbits will eat them down to the ground. Those darn rabbits even ate my yuccas in the spring before everything started to bloom.
