Choose the Right Branch
Select a healthy, mature branch
Ideal diameter: 1/2 to 1 inch
Look for flexible, green wood
Best time: Late spring to early summer

Prepare the Site
Pick a spot 12-18 inches from the tip
Find a section with multiple leaf nodes
Ensure it’s disease-free

Make the Cut
Remove a 1-inch ring of bark
Carefully scrape the cambium layer
Avoid damaging the inner wood
Use a sterilized cutting tool

Wrap with Moss
Moisten sphagnum moss
Pack it around the branch
Ensure full coverage, damp but not soggy

Secure the Moss
Wrap with clear plastic
Seal edges with tape or twine
Leave room for branch movement

Monitor and Maintain
Keep moss moist
Place in bright, indirect light
Maintain 65-75°F temperature
Check roots every 4-6 weeks

Separate and Transplant
Roots visible through plastic mean readiness
Cut below root mass when 2-3 inches long
Remove plastic and pot in well-draining mix
