Take your cabbage, cut off about a/2 in of the base. Place the base in a shallow bowl with about a/4 in of water. Change the water every 3 or 4 days. Put it in a sunny window. You’ll soon see new leaves and roots forming fast. After about 3 or 4 weeks, when the roots are about 1 in, transplant it into a large pot with rich, well- draining soil. You can transplant it out in the garden in March. Note, the cabbage leaves are edible at any stage. You can cut a few of the outer leaves during the winter for a meal while the rest of the base keeps growing from the center. By June, two or three heads should have formed. Cut the main head off. But here’s the cool part. Leave the smaller heads connected to the stock and a few outer leaves for a second harvest later. Eventually, the cabbage will flower and give you seeds, thusly giving you a perpetual cycle of free food. If you got anything from this video, please like and share. Thanks.
