Garden City man arrested on rape charges after domestic assault investigation

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – The Garden City Police Department arrested a 23-year-old man on Oct. 10 in connection with a rape investigation.

Garrick Wells was arrested at his job with the assistance of the Finney County Sheriff’s Office. He was lodged in the Finney County Jail on charges of rape, aggravated domestic battery, and criminal restraint.

According to police, officers responded to a report of aggravated battery and possible rape. The victim said she had been assaulted by Wells, who she knew personally.

The investigation revealed that Wells visited the woman at her home. They had a verbal argument, and after the argument, he allegedly restrained and sexually assaulted her. It was reported that Wells left the home after the victim repeatedly told him to leave.
