Thanks Brian. 💚🙃
I’ve missed potatoes in the ground and after a very cold and snowy winter they’ve come back. 🤗💚🙃
Anyone else noticed the lizard on the rock wall? LOL
Great timing on this, I've been planning a potato garden for next season!
Just for funnies hubby tried the above the ground method, of course we did it wrong but it was a learning experience! 💚🙃
Thanks so much!
There is another way , Get straw bales and push your potatoes into the center of the bale. They will grow and fill the bale with potatoes. Then at the end break the bale up for composting.
I’ve always saved my potato ends, let them heal and planted them in a pot. Been doing that for fifty odd years… don’t get a lot but it’s enough to help out.
2 questions. How many potatoes do you get from planting one potatoe? And, how long before they are ready to harvest?
Just wondering how that works with the white potatoes. I was taught that you can't let the potatoes be too shallow, because if the light touches them, they form toxins to deal with it.
I will try this in the spring. We live in Washington state 😊
Perfect timing. I am doing a fall/winter potatoe experiment now. Great channel btw. Thank you
Wow, thank you for sharing. This. I have never heard of this.😮 I can’t try it right now because I’m unable, but maybe I can do it in my raised beds. I would love to grow potatoes. Where did you buy your hay?
So, I live in 6b. Can, I do this on a raised bed? Will I be able to harvest before time to plant other things?
Buried gives double the potatos is my guess
I plant potatoes deep in the ground in fall zone 6a. Mulch with chopped leaves. They emerge typical around April with no protection in high raised beds.
I always used grocery store potatoes. Never had any issue. Cropping wasn't great this year this side of the Atlantic. Weather issues, it was hot and dry.
