This guide is a work-in-progress while we learn more about how the Ghoul Garden Event works. Our goal is to provide you with as much helpful information as we can!
What to Know About the Ghoul Garden Event
The Ghoul Garden Event revolves around the new Halloween Market and a witch you can give all your crops to. If you want to buy most of the new seeds, pets, and cosmetics in this update, you’ll need to work with the witch a whole lot.
This is because you’ll need the new Candy Corn currency to buy from each Halloween Market shop. And you’ll only be able to see these shops once per hour, for 15 minutes each time. Before you can start buying Halloween seeds to give to the Jack-o-Lantern, you’ll need to fill the Witch’s cauldron. For each time you completely fill the Witch’s cauldron, you’ll get rewards related to the event. Such as Spooky Eggs, Pumpkin Crates, and Candy Corn.
Speaking with the Witch will give you two choices to give her plants and/or fruit for her cauldron. You can either pick, “Submit Held Plant” or “Submit All Fruit” depending on what you want to do. She’ll take any plant type from you.
Once you have some Candy Corn from helping the Witch, you should buy some Halloween seeds. This is because the Jack-o-Lantern NPC appears once for five minutes per two hours. And they’ll only accept Halloween plants and crops with Halloween mutations. You can only get Halloween seeds from the Spooky Seeds Shop during the Halloween Market. Aside from the Great Pumpkin Seed at Sam’s Seed Stall.
While the Jack-o-Lantern is only around for a short time every two hours and is, unfortunately, easy to miss, the Witch sticks around. This means you’ll always have a way to get some rewards related to the Ghoul Garden Event. And, you can get Candy Corn from her as well.
How to Get Candy Corn
As previously mentioned, you’ll need to give the Witch a bunch of your crops first to get Candy Corn. After completing filling her cauldron, you’ll get event-related rewards and this new currency. The amount of points you get for contributing seems similar to previous events.
The basic rule is that you’ll get more points for giving the Witch rarer plants. The rarer the plant you contribute will also fill the cauldron more. And once you’ve completely filled the cauldron, you’ll have to wait two minutes before doing it again.
Here are the points you’ll get per crop given to the Witch:
Common – 1 Point Uncommon – 2 Points Rare – 3 Points Legendary – 4 Points Mythical – 5 Points Divine – 6 Points Prismatic – 7 Points Transcendent – 8 Points For Silver Variants – +1 Points For Gold Variants – +2 Points For Rainbow Variants – +3 Points
Once you’ve earned enough Candy Corn to start buying items in the Halloween Market, you can try to get Halloween seeds to contribute to the Jack-o-Lantern. Another way to get plants for the Jack-o-Lantern is to give them crops with Halloween mutations.
These likely include the Ghostly and Spooky mutations. You can get Ghostly from the Great Pumpkin Seed at Sam’s Seed Stall. Unlike other plants, it has the ability to mutate plants with the Ghostly Mutation. However, to get the Spooky Mutation, you’ll need to buy a Ghost Bear pet.
All Halloween Market Shops in the Ghoul Garden Event
Once per hour, the Halloween Market appears for only 15 minutes, where you can buy all sorts of seeds, pets, and cosmetics from these event shops. Since this is a limited-time event, make sure you get everything you want before they’re gone! The only Ghoul Garden seed not here is the Great Pumpkin Seed, which you can get from Sam’s Seed Stall.
It’s worth mentioning that, unlike most shops in Grow a Garden, you won’t be able to restock these manually. Which means you’ll only have a chance to see what’s in stock once per hour.
