Front lawn has random patches of this spread through out. Is there a way to get rid of it, short of digging them out individually and reseeding? Would also love to stop it coming back next year, is there any sort of chemical treatment I need to do?

Located in southern Australia.

Thanks!

So how did tall fescue make it over to Australia?

Right mate…I’m in Northern Ca and that looks exactly like my RTF (Rhizomatous Tall Fescue). Really great grass here in California.

Looks like it’s near your letterbox, just get the postie to do some skids on it after some heavy rain

looks like clumping fescue. have to pull it out and reseed if you don’t like it. I have some here in my lawn in Massachusetts and it’s the only grass that survived in my full sun area during our drought but I hate how thick it is and when I mow over it my lawnmower acts like it’s hit a speed bump.
