30 days post overseed, I have a few patches of clover, just cut for 2nd time, can I apply mesotrione? 5A, first frost right around the corner.

Not a ton of purpose behind setting down meso with frost so close, clover will die out for the season anyway. Just set down preemergant come spring.

I’m in a similar boat, I was debating just picking it by hand since there’s not very much of it

I personally like clover. It’s the only “weed” that I don’t target. I don’t get upset if it dies due to treating for ivy, but I’ll let it be otherwise.

My dogs would never let my grass be this pretty ***sob***

Personally id stay away from mesotrione for a post emergent its best used for seeding purposes and as a pre emergent from my experience I’ve found the kill to be slow and sometimes requires more applications than I’d like.

Personally I’ve tried speedzone, Tzone and triad select. The only one that absolutely creamed everything was the Triad select with just one application which gets my vote. You can also purchase the Triad QC select if you want something with quinclorac as well.

Honestly I leave clover, it’s the one weed that improves your lawns health

As others have said post emergent this late in the season won’t do much good instead keep a tight pre emergent schedule come spring to prevent any new weeds from popping up.

Clover can mean that nitrogen is low. Maybe try that, in cool season lawns you’re in growing season anyway so it’ll get used by the plants.

Triclopyr will take care of the clover much better than Mesotrione…

  11. Id never leave my house if my lawn looked like this. Gawwwd damn

I heard frost. You must be near me. MA – NH area. I’m curious about that because I have some spots to go after also. I was thinking about cutting and then spraying tomorrow for ben grass. Tenacity seems to stunt, but not kill clover
