Hey y’all. It’s such a beautiful day. It’s a This day is so pretty and peaceful. Y’all know how the roosters do. Soon as I start recording, they go to cackling. But I thought I’d do a an update on the fall garden. Let’s see what’s happening around the Bane’s homestead garden. All right, hold on. I’ll be right back. Some beautiful uh red Russian kale. It’s doing amazingly amazing red Russian kale in these four containers. And then right beside that, we have snow crown cauliflower. And that’s what’s in all of these containers. All of this is cauliflower. I’m excited about it. And we’re going to see what happens. Here’s that turmeric. Let me zoom out. turmeric and ginger over here that we are really going to get out in the next few days. Um, still not sure what to do with it. I’m watching videos on how to take care of it. So, if y’all have any uh suggestions, let a sister know. Yeah. Let’s stay on this side. We’re just going to go down this row. Hold on. Then over here, we’ve got our broccoli. That’s a castle dome. Over here, we’ve got some early Jersey Wakefield cabbage. And y’all remember how small those plants were when I planted them? They’ve only been fertilized. I fertilized them when I planted them. And I just fertilized them a couple of days ago. So, here’s some more of those early Jersey Wakefield. That basil has just kind of given up the ghost. Uh I don’t know what’s going to happen to it, but yeah, more cabbage. And here’s some broccoli. Don’t know the variety. It just said broccoli on the tag. See, just said broccoli. But down here, we have more broccoli. And I believe this is the green magic. Yes. Got green magic in these black 3gallon free recycled uh containers from a local uh landscaper green magic broccoli. And right beside it is the bed where I planted my impact salad greens and they are coming up nicely. Love it, love it, love it, love it, love it. And over to the other side, we have bell peppers. This is that bell pepper plant that I put down here and said I didn’t know what it was going to do. Well, it’s got one really nice bell pepper under there and a lot of buds. A lot. Don’t know if it’s cooling off too much for them to do anything, but I’mma leave it and see what happens. And then those are the alien potatoes that I planted. All of these in here are the alien potatoes. Got a lot of green growth. So, I hope that there’s going to be some white potatoes under there. White and red. I did I did two variety, white and red. We’ll see. And we have one more sweet potato container. This is that container that I planted because the friends that I bought them for didn’t get to pick them up and I didn’t want them to go to waste. So, I was looking in here the other day and we’ve got Let me see if I can let y’all see. Got potatoes. Well, I must have covered it up pretty good. But we have potatoes just sitting on top of the dirt in here. I told my husband. Um Oh, there it is. See, I told my husband we’re not going to water it anymore cuz we’re going to be harvesting soon. And over here is the collard corner. I’ve got two varieties of collards in these containers. I want lots and lots of collards. I want enough collards that I can share. So, we’ve got the It just says collard greens. Bonnie Choice. Bonnie’s Choice. Got those. And these these these these that one. That’s all Bonnie’s choice. And then back here. There. There. There. there and there we have blue collards. Never grown that variety. So, we’re going to see what happens. And there’s another section of collard corner right here. These are cabbage collards. Mars heading. same difference from what I understand. But that’s what’s in these free recycled 3gallon containers from the landscaper. And in this container, just the other day, I planted some celery. So, yeah, we’re going to see what happens. But that’s the collards. And if y’all remember how small they were, they are doing great. This is going to be my first harvest of lettuce and spinach. We’re going to have a nice salad tonight for dinner, y’all. Stay tuned. The lettuce and the spinach, and I’ve already harvested off of it once. More chives in this bed. This lettuce is beautiful. We ate some last night. It was delicious. And another basil and more chives in the pool bed. I’m going to be planting more spinach and lettuce in this area. Doing a succession planting so that I’m not having to harvest everything all at once like I did last year. I will never do that again. Over here, I’ve got more broccoli and I have cauliflower. I’ve got to find somewhere to put these containers. Um, they’re just kind of sitting here for now, but these are cauliflower and broccoli. I believe this is Where’s my tag? Oh, in each one of these containers, even the ones you just saw, they each have an onion or a chive planted with it. Ah, I don’t know where that tag is for the broccoli. Um, it’s here. So, oh, here it is. It’s a green magic, too. So, everything that’s over here are green magic except that one. That’s just a regular broccoli over there. But yeah, green magic in here. This is that mixed salad green bed that I planted with mustards and got some mustard greens in here, some turnup greens in here, some mixed salad greens in here. Um, some of it has come up nicely and some of it is just just breaking through. Just breaking through. But I was able to finally get everything mulched in or strawled in. So, we’re gonna see what happens with that bed. And right beside it are more collards. You guessed it. These are cabbage collards. But I I believe cabbage collards are the same as Morris heading collards. So, had something eating them up. So, I’ve been out here plucking stuff off. plucking these little green worms. And that’s one of the plants that I did from seed. That’s a collard green right there. And my basil. Hi, basil. Over here, we planted some carrots. I saw some peeking through uh the other day. So hopefully we’ll soon see something coming up. More basil. And I was told that it’s time to harvest the peanuts. That’s what all that is. And I believe I got a potato over here. Yep, that’s a potato. Must have been one we missed when we harvested in the spring. Yeah. Y’all see these critters up and down this stem? This is why you have to inspect your garden every day. Turn those leaves over cuz if you see a hole, there’s a critter. And who remembers planting the green beans with me? We planted green beans and beets in this bed. Don’t know what’s going on with the beets. Uh they’re coming up, but these uh these green beans are taking over. And everywhere you see a flower or a bud, that is going to be a green bean. So yeah, I I may Oh, there’s a beet. There’s a couple. See that right there? Wait, hold on. Let me see if I can get to it. There it is. That’s a beet right there. There’s another one hiding up under these. But I am going to have a lot of green beans out of this bed. I’m excited. Um I love fresh green beans. cuz I didn’t know how much until I started growing them myself. And we put a basil in here, remember? I think I put two. Yeah, there’s the other one. Yep. Green beans for days, people. Cameron and Demarcus are going to love me for these. And they’re supposed to be the bush variety. So why they’re going all the way out this bed, I don’t know. But yeah, and then on that same day, we planted these pole beans and they are climbing. They are climbing. Oh, that’s a dead something. Got some damage to these leaves. I don’t know what that’s about. Let’s take it off. They’re climbing. And wherever you see a bud, that’s going to be a green bean. Yay for us. We love it. We love it. and prayerfully. This is not bird nesting season, so we shouldn’t have any problems with birds building their nests in our beantock over here. But yeah, we also put beets in this bed and I saw some growth, but again, I think these green beans have just taken over. So, we’ll see what happens. We’ll have nothing lost, that’s for sure. Well, we still got some summer stuff. Doing some summer stuff. Uh that’s that tomato um that we did from a sucker. It’s actually two plants, but only one is producing. And I believe that is the I can’t remember but I’ll if I can recollect I’ll pop it up in the um over this video so that um I think it’s a mountain magic but not certain. And this is I believe a Brandy Wine pink. It’s got some It’s got some buds, but it’s just been too cool for for them to do anything. But yeah, that’s the tomatoes. And still got some onions down there. And the peppers are still peppering. I’ll get uh these harvested this weekend. And look, the lemons are still growing over here. They haven’t turned yellow, but they’re over here. Yeah. Peppers, peppers, and more peppers. If there’s one thing I can grow, that’s a hot pepper. And we are going to be harvesting our ginger soon. Oh, I’m too close cuz it’s starting to die back. So, we’re going to get that out soon. Still some summer stuff and we’ll get that out soon. But that’s some more of that basil. That smells so delicious. And those mini cayenne peppers and still some summer stuff. That’s a Brandy Wine pink tomato. This is, I believe, a Mountain Magic, y’all. I don’t know. But I think uh I’m going to be cutting that one out, too. This is a Carmelo. Had a few left. We just wanted to see what would happen if we left them out here. See if they’ll do anything. But more summer stuff. And the beets in here were being eaten by those caterpillars, but I was able to pluck them all off and I haven’t seen any more in a few days. So, I don’t know. We’ll see what happens. Um, got some good soil. Look at that mushroom over there. And right there. Some good soil in here, people. Take off some of these leaves that are touching the ground, touching the dirt. And got some more purple hole. bush beans. We’ve been eating those and I’ve been harvesting them and freezing them and gifting them and um yeah. And then remember the carrots from the other day. I got some more growing. Look at this one. Wait, that leaf is in the way. Hold on. See him? He’s going to be a big one. As Brooke says, he going to be a big one. So exciting. Not a whole lot to show, but enough that I’m proud of. But yeah, just wanted to show y’all. And then I got a surprise. Let’s just say if you have a tractor supply in your area, you probably want to go and pay them a visit. But you’ll see it at the end of this video. But yeah, that’s our fall garden update, y’all. We out here doing it. We out here growing our own grocery. We are doing the thing. You hear me? And I’ve got other people now growing with me. It’s It’s so I can’t even describe how exciting I how excited I am about myself growing, but to have now family and friends doing it. It’s everything. It’s everything. I’m taking some more of these leaves off these beets. But yeah, let me uh hurry up and get y’all to the to the surprise. All right, y’all. Stay tuned. Y’all, that’s my um neighbor uh cutting his grass if you hear that noise. But y’all, my tractor supply haul that I secured is everything. Hold on. Wait a minute. Wait, wait, wait, wait. This is great. Oh, let me see. Okay, first of all, I got this Dr. Earth um allpurpose potting soil for $4.99. [Music] And yeah, I got two bags. And I got the Esoma tomato and veg fertilizer. I actually got I actually have I bought six. I bought three of each, but I just shared um some with a fellow gardener friend of mine. And then for the big reveal, I scored a greenhouse for $37. I don’t know how it works or if it’s gonna I don’t know. But all I know is I got it for $37. I am super excited. Y’all stay tuned.
