These two beauties had mild thrips infestation. hence i quarantined them and treated the infestation: i rinsed the leaves thoroughly, put systemic capsules into the soil and moved them on my balcony for additional pest control with the help of outdoor bugs (location is northern germany, temperatures never decreased under 10 degrees celcius during this period). they lives on my balcony for about 3-4 weeks. during this time i continued treating them with neem oil and insecticidal soap sprays alternating every 3-4 days. two weeks ago, i retrieved the two plants back inside (still quarantined in another room, though) while continuing treatment with neem oil and insecticidal soap. they seem pest free… BUT: look at the pictures! what is happening? i noticed the black spots one – two weeks ago. i thought the plants were just stressed out and they would get back to health in a couple weeks but in the last few days these black spots (necrosis??) have increased a lot! please help. does anybody have an idea?
watering: the soil is custom, a mixture of soil, perlite and bark. the big pot is terracotta, the small one plastic. i use a moisture meter, both pots have drainage holes.
light: enough. i mean, it is northern germany and my balcony is north facing but then again they were seeing the sky basically all the time during treatment.

how long have they been in this soil mix? from what you described, i’d probably use a chunkier mix with some bark and pumice. also, the leaves look REALLY shiny in several of the pics. are you spraying/misting the leaves?? also, is there airflow in the room they’re in??
Edit: also, how often are you watering?? i stopped using my moisture meter cuz i couldn’t trust it. now, i just stick a wooden skewer into the soil for 20-30 minutes and water if it comes out dry. Its possible you could be overwatering
The soil looks really dense and wet. Could be root rot.
