Jolly Potters is celebratingThe Jolly Potters beer garden

A pub is celebrating – after winning its licence fight. The victory means Jolly Potters, in Hartshill, can now play live and recorded music in its beer garden until 8pm, serve alcohol from the outdoor bar until 9pm, and allow drinkers to use the beer garden until 10pm.

The new licence was approved by Stoke-on-Trent City Council.

In a social media post to drinkers, the venue stated: “After a long road of applications and meetings, we’re delighted to announce that our licence has been renewed. This is a huge step forward — not just for us as a business, but for the local community too.

“We’ve worked closely with all parties involved and are committed to making The Jollys a place everyone can be proud of. We want to reassure our neighbours that we’ll never allow the pub to slip back to how it was in 2019. Our goal is to create a family-friendly, community-driven pub where everyone feels welcome — and where the bad eggs won’t spoil the bunch.

“A massive thank you to everyone for the ongoing support — it really means the world. We’ve got some exciting plans and ideas coming up, but we’d love to hear your suggestions too! Here’s to a bright future at The Jollys — for the community, by the community.”
