Pool area recommendations

Howdy

I'm looking to freshen up my pool area.
The plan is to pull out the existing plants, planter box, some pavers and make a small garden bed.
It's a north facing area.

I was thinking some form of privacy hedge but unsure what variant to plant. More than happy to hear any other plant recommendations
