MONROE, La. (KNOE) – The Biedenharn Museum & Garden asked to support local nonprofits at the 7th Annual Scarecrow Garden at the Biedenharn Museum and Gardens.

Three guest judges will choose their top three scarecrow displays made by the nonprofits. Museum officials say the first, second, and third place winners will be rewarded with cash prizes.

The Executive Director of the Biedenharn Museum and Gardens, Ralph Calhoun, says this event strengthens the connections between the community and nonprofits.

“We want to support and lift areas of nonprofits, so we offer them the opportunity to come in, they do a scarecrow display, and then they have an ability to win two different categories’ cash prizes,” Calhoun says. “It’s a lot of creativity, but you also see the care and love that these different organizations have for whatever their missions might be.”

Opening night is Oct 7, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Other events that will take place are public voting from October 8 through the 10. Closing Garden Cinema will be on Oct 11, as the People’s Choice Winner will be announced, and the winner will receive a cash prize for their organization.
