Trying seeds for containers from companies I haven’t used before.
[Music] Hello everyone. Welcome to Planet and Prospering. My name is Lenel and yes it has been a while since I’ve been on but I have been starting school teaching not as a student uh and fighting leg pain and now I have I guess it’s a cold. I did a COVID test and it came back negative. And excuse any noise you may hear. I am outside, but today is the day that I do my seed haul, my fall container garden seed haul. Now, I didn’t get seeds this time from the local Tractor Supply or Lowe’s or Dollar Tree or any of those Walmart, any of those places like that. I actually ordered these seeds from elsewhere. I ordered from two places. I ordered from and I’m gonna jump right on in this because I have lots to do and still don’t feel the best. But um I ordered from Botanical Interest and I also ordered from Rene’s Garden. Both of these companies I think are out of state. Huh. Uh, crazy enough, they’re both from Colorado. So, I’m going to do my seed haul, show you what I have, and then I’ll be posting a video very soon with me planting. Um, I need to do that very soon because planting time is here, and I need to get those in. So, I’m going to turn you around, show you what I have. Okay, so I am going to do this quickly. This will not be a very long video at all. I even thought about one time doing doing it as a short, but I know I prefer to do it as a regular video. So, I’m going to begin with botanical interest and uh if you’d like more information about uh these, I will probably do that in the the planting of the seeds uh video which is coming up. If you see smoke, that is my incense burning to kind of help deter mosquitoes while I’m out here. And again, any background noise from cars passing, I do apologize. And I’m going to try to talk a little bit louder than normal so that I can make sure that you hear. Okay. Botanical interest. The first one is bok choy. I love bok choy. It is expensive in the store and I’ve decided to just grow my own. Okay, so bok choy. I also picked up some spinach, some space spinach. All of these uh seeds, by the way, are uh more favorable for container gardens. Okay. Uh this is dwarf blue chard uh not charred, blue curled kale. Okay. My little idea of putting them there is not working. And the last one that I bought, I actually paid for. um is a cover crop that I’m going to put in my raised bed. Um actually I have two raised beds now. I’m still deate debating if I’m going to keep the one that I created this year. Um but I will indeed keep the other one because I put a lot of work in that one with u running hard wire uh cloth under it and just a lot of work. So I don’t want to just tear it tear it down after I’ve done so much. Uh, but that one was kind of distort uh destroyed with the cat using it. So, I do plan to um kind of fence it in, I guess, this year. And I have to do some research on what to do to kind of treat the soil from having like cat feces and stuff in it. And it’s like it’s not like I can find it. Um, so I’m just I don’t know. I may end up having to dig all that soil out. But and I’ll keep you updated. Um, as a gift, a thank you gift for purchasing from them. They sent me some measculum measculine lettuce. Uh, and I will indeed plant these. Uh, my daughter and I love salads, so it’ll be an awesome opportunity to try something different. So, all of those again came from Botanical. Then, uh, the other place I again I ordered from is Rene’s Garden. And I’ll have this information in the box under um the description box under the video. Uh so for Rene’s garden, I have some Japanese baby turnipss. I’m also springing. Mosquitoes are so bad out here, y’all. Um I have some runaway arugula. And then I have some broccoli rob called super rapini. Oh, sorry. And let me put the other one back cuz I didn’t pay attention as to whether it showed or not. So, this is the uh broccoli rob. Sorry about my hand in the way. And this one is the uh runaway aruga. And again, I ordered also ordered um the Japanese baby turnipss. Again, all of these seeds are container garden friendly. Uh, and that is why I ordered them because I do not believe I will be trying to do too much in ground again. Um, I did the corn. I am still uh getting producing okra from that. The corn did not succeed. Uh again, the onions, the garlic, uh they did not succeed because uh two things happened. The cat and the weeds just kind of took over and that was during that hot hot hot heat wave we had and it just everything just kind of went out of control at that point because it was just too hot to be out there. So, this concludes my video, my haul video for my fall garden, and I will go ahead and end here. I want to thank you so much for taking time out of your day to watch my videos. Uh, please like, subscribe, and share. And, uh, thank you, and I will see you guys again very soon. [Music] [Applause]
