Ever get a piece of kit so nice that you are both excited to and terrified of getting dirty? That’s the King of spades 27 in for me. Can’t wait to dig out some bushes but she’s so pretty in the Sun

Cool shovel. You under 5 ft tall or digging in a mine? Long handles give lots of benefits.

Love my King of Spades. Kind of wish I had gotten the cushioned-handle version, though. Ended up rigging my own cushion.

If you’re anything like me, you’ll be pulling off those foot pads soon. The extra height to lift your foot just gets annoying, and a boot provides enough protection that you don’t need another rubber bumper in between.
I also prefer a straight blade, it seems to be better at chopping through without sliding off, and also easier for me to get lined up to take the perfect slice out of a cut edge.
But to each their own, let ‘er rip!
edit: also FWIW the AM Leonard all-steel spades are the same thing for a decent bit cheaper (especially with their contractor pricing). Not that you’ll ever need to buy another shovel again now š¤£

Been in the landscaping business for a while. Pro tip:
Use a sawzall and buy some Diablo blades. Cut in a circle around said small stump / shrub and it will pop out within 2 mins or less. Zero effort.
Diablo blades will cut through literally anything – slightly more $$ than your normal sawzall blades but completely worth the zero effort in removing shrubs / small bushes / small trees
