Just bought her! Now what?
What to do with light and watering? Its spring-winter right now and ive heard they go dormant? When will she come back to life? Also is there a way to keep her awake through the winter? Its incredibly cold
Oh and is this much guttation normal? I just watered her since she was bone dry in the shop

    Congrats on your new plant!

I would let her be for a bit to get acclimated to your house. Alocasias like bright indirect light. I keep mine in a north/ slightly east facing window. I’m in the Northern hemisphere so mainly being a north facing window doesn’t provide too much light so I also provide my alocasias with grow lights. I’ve never had mine go dormant in the winter. If you’re supplementing with grow lights during the winter they’re less lightly to go dormant.

As far as watering goes, someone will else may be able to give you better advice because I grow all but 3 of my alocasias in semi hydro pon. The ones that are in soil I keep fairly moist but they can suseptible to root rot so must be mindful of that.

They like bright indirect sun and humidity but will adjust to home humidity over time or you can get a small humidifier to out next to it if it start to not adjust. if you have a plant cabinet that would be awesome. also dont pot them too big as they like snuggie as a buggie roots. Mine is constantly watered from underneath the pot, mainly cause its in gravel/fluval mix and guttation is normal 😊
