TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – The Capper Foundation was awarded a $1,500 grant from the National Garden Bureau.

The funds are part of the 2025 Therapeutic Garden Grant Program, awarding five therapeutic gardens for their dedication to healing and inclusion through nature.

The Capper Foundation took home second place nationwide in the voting campaign.

“We are incredibly grateful to the National Garden Bureau and all the supporters who voted for Capper Foundation,” said Edie Smith, Vice President of Development and Marketing. “This grant will help us enhance the Capper Trail and continue creating meaningful experiences for those we serve.”

The grant will go towards the development of the Capper Trail, the foundation’s fully accessible garden.

This fall, a total of $7,500 was awarded.

The Capper Foundation says the award shows major support from the community, and they are thankful to those who voted on their behalf.
