I don’t have the plants staked so it’s hard to get decent photos. But these are new plants set this spring in a new raised bed. Bed was built with wood chips, compost and some top soil. The plant grew like crazy but for the last 2 or 3 weeks the shoots have been starting to look like they’re dying off starting at the base and working out. It has primarily started happening on the older shoots but some of the primocanes from this year are starting to show as well.

Is this normal for raspberries, or a sign of a larger issue? I did have a basil plant that grew out of hand and likely didn’t allow airflow on the base.

Do you only have red raspberries in that bed? What zone are you in? My red raspberries are starting to look similar, but no issues with my everbearing varieties.
