Good progress is being made at a much-loved garden centre in Suffolk as its major refurbishment takes another step forward.

Bypass Nurseries in Capel St Mary has released a photo on social media showing the progress being made on its new building.

Located next door to the main garden centre, the building framework for the site has been put up, with brickwork now being laid.

Earlier this year, bosses at the garden centre announced that they would be undergoing a “major refurbishment”.

They said: “To those who have visited us recently, you may have noticed one of our buildings is empty and wondered if we are closing down, but we are here to tell you that we are not going anywhere.

“But we are undertaking a major refurbishment starting this summer.

“One of the largest buildings in our garden centre, also known as the sundries building to a lot of our staff is being knocked down and rebuilt over the following year.”

The business remains open while the building work is taking place and products found in the sundries building are now being held elsewhere in the garden centre.
