She thriving in my office! Is she crawling or something? I have never seen them do these LOOONG ASS off shoots!!!

Watering as soon as soil feel dry. Fertilising now once month since it’s off season. She gets enough light as a fern it’s semi shade.

Not enough light contrary to what youre saying. Thats why she’s reaching.

Mine is sat in a north facing window and only grows in upward tiers not outward

Wants more light. You should see my stems, they are about 3m long in some cases.

My plant is hidden in a corner with all stems extending towards the window where all the leaves grow. It really is a funky plant.

This is an asparagus fern, asparagus setaceus.

Not a true fern. It’s begging for more light

Bracing itself for the “big pull” towards the window lol

That’s an asparagus fern suffering from etiolation

How in all things possible is this NOT enough light? The windows are massive. It’s within 5 feet of them.

What direction do they face? (The windows)

*Asparagus setaceus* (not true fern but flowering plant) is climber by nature and in wild it grows over other plants by sending long shoots like that.

I have one doing the exact same thing now…has wound itself all up in the shade climbing to get some light. Now I’ll have to move it.

I believe it seem to have it’s goal set on reaching food avenue.

So it’s a healthy climber shoot. No worries then. Great news.

For everyone saying it’s etiolating haven’t seen how they actually grow as mature plants. They are climbers, and it’s a stem looking for shit to attach itself to. [This is a video of one in my backyard.](https://imgur.com/a/kGpiD5e)
