hi all! my lovely boyfriend got these little guys for me through amazon.

i've read the care guide and did the best i could! they were immediately potted into a 95% perlite 5% succulent and cactus soil mix, little terracotta pot and i watered them after potting!

my questions are..

-does this look alright?

-a few of them are still a little wrinkly, should i pay those special attention? give them a little more water?

-it's the start of autumn here in good ol Kentucky, they're hanging out on my back patio in 50/50 direct sun in the morning, shaded most of the afternoon and evening, about 80 degrees in the day and anywhere between 65-50 degrees at night, is this alright?!?

thanks for reading!

Don’t water anybody for a week (generally want to wait a few days for any succulent), and if a bunch are still wrinkly, then you can give them a good watering. Unfortunately, a couple of yours are flush with water (like the reddish one in the third photo), so rather than soaking the whole pot, you’ll want to water around the wrinkled ones and avoid the flush one(s).

  2. Heya! I’d bring them inside when nighttime temperatures start reaching 60 degrees. They can freeze if it gets below 50 degrees, need to be careful there. Water management can be a bit difficult when you have several lithops in one pot. A general rule for succulents is that it’s better to underwater rather than overwater. I’d try doing what u/acm_redfox has suggested.

I’m also very new to lithops and have several pots by now. I have found reducing the amount of plants in one pot to figure out what their rhythms are. While all lithops are growing throughout the winter, some might start earlier or later on their cycle. I currently have two in one pot who differ a bit with their timing. One’s flowering, the other gets some of the water regardless even if I just water one of them (see pic) as they have long tap roots.

But then, you can always repot some of them if you notice they are very opposite from each other as your setup is so lovely (cudos to the boyfriend, send him to Etsy next lol) and I see people all the time having many in one pot.

But I agree, the pretty reddish/purple one in the middle won’t need any water anytime soon.
