Beetham Nurseries’ Apple Weekend will be back on Saturday, October 11, and Sunday, October 12.

The free event will feature a range of activities for families, food lovers, and gardening enthusiasts.

Visitors will have the opportunity to purchase from more than 40 varieties of fruit trees and sample unusual apple varieties.

Freshly pressed juice from visitors’ own apples will be available, with donations going to the Growing Well, a mental health charity in the area.

Andy Gilchrist, apple expert, will be on hand on Sunday to help identify apples, while Growing Well’s head of horticulture, Paul Cambre, will deliver a special talk on growing techniques.

Tickets are required for the talk.

The event also includes children’s crafting sessions, a fairy hunt, a colouring competition, and live music on the terrace.

The Garden Café will offer a special fruit-themed menu, with additional options from local Kendal Farmer’s Market producers.

Street food and baked treats will also be available throughout the weekend.

Other highlights include an in-store competition to win an apple tree and knife and tool sharpening services from KingSharp.

The Apple Weekend, which has become a favourite in the Beetham calendar, promises a fun-filled and educational day out for all ages.
