I am furious. This antlered jerk has been plaguing me all year, but this time he's gone too far. Fortunately it's the end of the season, but there are still a decent amount of green peppers. Do you think they'll still ripen? At least this will make picking them much easier.

7 foot tall fence can't stop this guy!

This how I feel about iguanas 😭. Have you tried motion sprinklers and lights? A dog? Someone mentioned a terrier because labs are to friendly.

.30-06 take care of that problem

  3. Nice! Makes it easy to find the peppers for harvest.
If your season is long enough, the plant will make more foliage.

    Makes picking them easier 🤷🏻‍♂️

That’s sad. One deer ate all those plants? I believe/hope that the few remaining leaves will be enough for the plants to keep growing the peppers.

My daughter was just asking me this morning if pepper leaves are spicy or just the fruits… it’s so strange this popped up, and I’m sorry for your garden, but thank you for the answer!

Oddly enough the deer may have helped them ripen. Peppers tend to ripen quicker when the plant is stressed. The leaf loss is likely to have stressed the plants. Also, if any of them are hot peppers, it could help make them hotter as well for the same reason.

This is the most deer thing i’ve seen all day, and i’ve been watching deer all day. Incredible.

450!!! Does SWAT get called in when you’re processing those?

What did you carefully hand-paint each habanero with to keep the deer away?

You can buy a animal predator call. It will scare all animals. It’s what some big farms do to scare away birds, wild boars, and deer.

    He must like basil. /s

The leaves on hot pepper plants aren’t very toxic so that’s probably why. Iirc sweet peppers have more toxic leaves.

Most of the plant’s energy is in the roots so you might be ok. You may want to protect new leaves from being eaten.

What’s your problem? You have peppers from all 450 plants. Win win

Your courteous deer deserve a medal. At least fall cleanup should be easier.

I think this was very considerate of the deer.
