Its been 4 months since I got my syngonium from the nursery and it needs to be repot. This is what I discover. Should I cut open the plastic thing and then repot? I don't want to damage the roots. Also lots of different types of worms in the soil. Is that healthy? Placed in indirect sunlight and watering twice a week. The top looks damaged by some insect.

Yes, the plastic pot needs to be cut away from the plant.

The plant doesn’t have many roots so you do not need a very large pot, something that’s only an inch bigger around than the root mass. The damage on the foliage looks like it’s from the roots staying I’m moist for too long which tells me it’s been watered too frequently, or the pot is too big.

Worms in the soil are fine.

The worms are good guys. Leave them alone. And yes, just cut that plastic pot off.
