The Plagued Mutation was added to Grow a Garden on September 27, 2025, as part of the Seed Stages Update. It’s a mutation combo that’s tied to weather events, so here’s everything you need to know about this mutation. Such as how to get it and what it does!
How to Get the Plagued Mutation in Grow a Garden
Before you can get the Plagued Mutation, you’ll need to know how to get the Infected and Zombified Mutations. This is because you have to combine these two on a crop in your garden to make the Plagued Mutation. Here’s everything you need to know about getting them:
The Infected Mutation is tied to the admin-only Brains.. Event. During this event, zombies run to each garden applying the Infected Mutation to random crops. The Zombified Mutation requires having a Chicken Zombie pet, sometimes referred to as the Chicken Jockey. Unfortunately, this is the only way to get the Zombified Mutation. And getting this pet required being online when the Blood Moon update was released on May 17, 2025. However, the developers gave it away once more randomly after the Admin War Event. It’s possible this could happen again. While it doesn’t matter what order you get each mutation on your plant, once they’re both on it, they’ll combine to make Plagued. Another one that requires a combination is the Clay Mutation. What Does the Plagued Mutation Do?
Like all mutations, Plagued adds a value multiplier to your crops. It increases the profits of your crop when selling it by 102x. This makes it one of the better mutations you can get in Grow a Garden, despite being a tough one to get.
