Im actually not sure if this is a plant or fungus so im sorry if i post this to the wrong subreddit. It’s growing on the ground next to a tree, north georgia. I know i probably shouldn’t have grabbed it with my bare hands considering i don’t know what it is, but oh well. does anyone know?

Indian pipe, a plant with no chlorophyll that’s a parasite of fungus. This is an interesting case, I don’t think I’ve ever seen them when they weren’t growing in a clusters.
