Pauline, owner of The Personalised Flower Box, hosted the event for staff and residents of Prince Edward Duke of Kent Court.

She brought a selection of artificial flowers in autumn shades, complete with decorations such as miniature pumpkins on sticks.

After a short demonstration, participants selected from two display options to arrange their own flowers – either a weighted woven bag printed with “Home Sweet Home”, or a terracotta pot with a heart design.

They then crafted their unique bouquets, with the home’s facilities manager, Carl Hewitt, joining in.

Resident Pat took on the role of “flower supervisor”, offering advice and encouragement.

She said: “I was quick to suggest which blooms might make each bouquet stand out even more.

“I wanted to ensure that everyone felt proud of their creations.”

The staff praised the session as a “calming and therapeutic opportunity”, with the colourful displays brightening up the lounge.

Activities coordinator Sophie said: “We are now looking forward to Pauline’s return in November, when residents will have the chance to create festive Christmas decorations together.

“The date has already been marked with much anticipation.”

The Prince Edward Duke of Kent Court is run by RMBI Care Co., part of the Masonic Charitable Foundation.
