I bought this variegated frydek about 2 weeks ago and a new leaf just started popping out (yay!). I have been afraid to do anything with it so I just wonder if it’d be best to replant with the corm completely under the substrate or just wait until the roots grow enough to replant and then worry about it?

My philosophy is if it’s happy I don’t touch it, if your plant is actively growing a new leaf and the pot isn’t overflowing with roots then you are fine to wait! The substrate looks fine to me

  2. No, don’t. The corm should never be submerged, only the very bottom part and the roots. The growing parts should always be out in the air to avoid rot.
