It looks to be mostly bumble bees and maybe honey bees. I read that aster is very good for our local pollinators so I'd love to keep it but I'm also allergic to bees and need to be cautious.

Totally normal this time of year. Asters are one of the few flowers blooming right now so the bees are swarming it. You should feel proud that you’re proving so much valuable food for them. Good job.

Mine are the same. It’s wonderful.

I have Goldenrod, and it’s much the same. They love it.

This happens to my Asters every year around this time. We call it Bee Fest and look forward to it all year.

I’ve got a ton of these coming up this year and now suddenly blooming. I’ve thought all summer, are these weeds? I’m glad I left them be, for the bees.

Bless you for considering keeping it even though you’re allergic to bees. If you have a local gardening club, someone there might be willing to take it to transplant somewhere. If not, maybe next year just keep it trimmed a little more.

I get bees and wasps I’ve never seen elsewhere. The asters seem to be the biggest attraction, I also have blue mist flower and goldenrod.

Is it normal for bees to land on flowers? Yes, lol

Last I checked, bees on flowers is normal. Whats the cause for concern? The volume?

You have the sweetest nectar in town for them. This is a good thing!!!

Respect the bees, they’ll respect you.

Totally normal. And a good source of food for them this time of year, especially since we’re deep into a drought in my area and not much else is blooming
